(Obituary) Born on October 27, 1958, Paul was the son of the late Hiel and Margaret (MacIntosh) Patterson of Oxford. Paul loved to golf and enjoyed being on and near the water. As a child he loved to swim back and forth across the Pugwash harbour and as an adult he loved to travel over the water in boats of all kinds. Paul also loved to fish and hunt for deer in the fall and enjoyed eating wild game. Deer were also drawn to Paul. Many times they leaped onto the road, trying to get into his latest VW. Their affinity kept the body shop in business. Paul went to PDHS, then on to Cumberland Regional Vocational School where he studied Carpentry and Mechanics. He later studied Electrical and found his “home’ when he started working at the Fox Harb'r Resort as an electrician. He looked forward to spending each day with friends and workmates there. After Pauls sickness in 2017, when he was unable to physically go to work each day he loved to tell about the beautiful resort and people there. Paul is survived by his son, Christopher Paul Patterson. Also, four siblings- Nancy, Amherst, NS, Andrew (Donna), Oxford, NS, Esther (Ken) Turkington, Venezuela, and Miriam (David) Flynn, Pasadena, NL. Nieces and Nephews, Katherine Gayton, Andrew Gayton, Elizabeth Patterson, Aubrey Patterson, Joseph Turkington, Norman Turkington, Thomas Turkington, Paul Flynn, Rebekah Flynn, Michael Flynn, and Brian Flynn. Paul will be greatly missed by his cousins, Macintosh and Patterson's, Aunts and Uncles, as well as some very special friends and coworkers. Besides his parents, Paul was also predeceased by his nephew, James Gayton, in 1992. He will also be missed by his energetic bundle of fur, Sparky. Paul always expressed gratitude for the care he received at Hospitals in Pugwash, Amherst, Truro and Halifax. He was grateful for the VON and other agencies that visited him at home. We, as his family, want to thank you for your care and for being there for him when Covid regulations kept us out. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, NS, 902-667-9906. There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and co-workers at 9:30 AM on Monday, August 3, 2020 in the open air behind Whirligigs Cafe in Wallace, NS. Friends are welcome to say a few words. Following that will be a private burial service for family at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2020 in Thomson Cemetery, Thomson Station, NS. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions in Paul’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
